Diet: Their diet is almost exclusively vegetarian and in captivity they will often eat all the plants in a tank. They will also eat worms and small insects.  They also like tropical flake food and spirulina flakes or sea weed salad.

Breeding: Breeding them is not very difficult. They prefer broad leaves to lay their eggs on.

Temperament:  Silver Dollars are very peaceful and get along well with other species in a community tank. They prefer to have the company of other individuals of their own kind, but also interact positively with other species.
